Growing up the son of an accomplished artist, Randy Orr aspired to be an architect from the age of 11. At age 12, Randy’s own artistic talents emerged early by winning a state wide art contest with over 8,000 entrants. Randy received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Arkansas School of Architecture in 1984. Right out of Architecture School, Randy went to Dallas, Texas where he built a reputation for dedication and excellence while developing his residential wood frame skills. Randy then moved back to Little Rock, Arkansas where he became a Licensed Registered Architect and worked as a Project Architect for the prestigious firm of Wittenburg, Delony & Davidson Architects. There he enjoyed a reputable career of over 20 years while serving as Project Architect for some of the state’s largest and most complex projects.
Armed with powerful knowledge from a diverse background, and understanding the advantages of combining the Architect and the Contractor into one firm, Randy has joined forces with master Custom Home Builder Ralph Hughes to form Hughes-Orr Group, LLC.
Randy likes cultivating long-term relationships with both clients and colleagues, and is an expert at spatial and functional design. Randy has intense listening ability which allows him to translate a client’s vision to a functional design. Remaining dedicated to exceeding his client expectations, Randy believes the design process does not end till construction is complete. This design philosophy encourages evolving the design throughout the design and construction process.
In his free time, Randy enjoys volunteering as a Boy Scout Leader, playing golf, spending time with family and friends, and reading philosophy.
